The redevelopment of AXA Tower will see a brand new 63-storey mixed use development that is set to be the tallest tower amongst the skyscrapers in downtown Singapore. The new skyscraper, 8 Shenton Way, will be about 305m when completed.
8 Shenton Way will boast excellent connectivity with a basement level that connects to the underground pedestrian network with direct access to the Tanjong Pagar MRT station on the East West Line.
Other MRT stations within walking distance from 8 Shenton Way are Maxwell MRT station on the Thomson-East Coast Line and the upcoming Prince Edward MRT station on the Circle Line.
This upcoming development, 8 Shenton Way, will comprise of a total of 1.6 million sqft of floor area dedicated to retail spaces, offices, hotel, and luxury residential apartments. The design will bring together nature, heritage, connectivity to transit, luxury living, healthy workplaces and lively public spaces.
The public plaza on the ground floor of 8 Shenton Way opens up to the street and will comprise of a multi-floor atrium, reflecting pool, events spaces, retail offerings and alfresco dining spaces. On the second floor will be restaurants set admidst lush greenery.
8 Shenton Way will have a total of 63-storeys with about 60 percent of the building for commercial, including retail, F&B and offices, while the rest are for 215 residential units and a hotel. The hotel will be on levels 24 to 26, while the residential units will be on levels 27 to 63.
There will be a total of seven sky terraces located within the tower of 8 Shenton Way, including one on the hotel floors, three on the residential floors and three on the office floors. These elevated green spaces will be orientated towards the sea-facing south side of the tower.
At 8 Shenton Way, luxury residences will occupy the topmost floors of the tower with panoramic views of the sea as well as the city. The design and development team are targeting 8 Shenton Way to be certified BCA Green Mark Platinum, the highest sustainability rating for a building in Singapore.
